And whatsoever ye do, do heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

Work heartily as for the Lord

In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips only to penury.

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do with thy might; for no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

Whatever your hand finds to do

He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain void of understanding.

He who works his land will have food

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

If anyone will not work, let him not eat

Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean

A man skilled in his work

With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:

Serve wholeheartedly as to the Lord

And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

The Lord put man in the garden to work

The soul of the sluggard desireth, and nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

The diligent soul will prosper

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
